Welcome to part 2 of the walking tour and tutorial.
To enter The City, click on the door below the Subway
sign, and you will then be in the hallway of the subway.
You will notice by looking at the map on the back
wall, that the city is rather large. The speaker to the upper
left hand corner of the screen plays music and tells you that
the operators have been pages about your arrival. Not click on
the Enter the City at the bottom left hand corner of the screen.
Here, you are greeted by Ned, the News Guy. He will
inform you of the latest goings on at The City. The Next Room
at the lower right hand of the screen takes you back to the subway
entrance (the room with the map, above) If you are not a registered
Palace Software user, you will not be able to go past here! Wait
for assistance! If you are registered (To see, pull down file,
and if enter registration code is grey {not black} then you are
registered) then click on the arrow going up the stairs and you
will enter The City streets!
Welcome to The City ! There are AVs in Avatars International
as well as throughout The City.
If you notice the buttons at the top of the picture.
Turn left arrow, turn right arrow, help and map and also the compass.
We shall have a lesson on those next.
Turn left and right are pretty self explanatory.
You can turn around in a street or turn street corners with the
buttons. The compass always gives you the direction in which you
are heading. Very useful because you can also pull up the map,
which looks just like the one in the subway entrance, with one
exception. This map tells you exactly where you are in the city.
See the blue line below? That is exactly where I was when I pulled
up my map for this shot!
You will notice under the pictures from now on,
I have a number. You can get to any room that is public in The
City by typing in /roomnumber gotoroom For example, the street
number for the one above this one is 349, so you would type in
/349 gotoroom, and you will go to that location!
