Welcome to a walking virtual tour of The City (c)
2001. If you've come this far, then you already have the palace
software downloaded and have been to The City and are just needing
a little extra help.
The City(c)2001 is just like a real city except
it exists within the virtual space of the Internet. You need to
get the palace software in order to visit the city. You can download
it at http://www.palacetools.com.
Hopefully this tutorial and walking tour will help
you make your way around the through The City!
First a few rules to remember in Any Palace. No
foul language and no scrolling in the room fast. You can be sent
to pergatory for cursing and be booted for 5 minutes for scrolling
too fast :-)
When you first enter The City, you will be in a
screen as seen below. Click on the doors that lead to the Subway
in order to enter The City.
The very first thing that I would like to go over
before you enter The City, is how to use your Palace Software.
This section is of course for the new Palace Software users. For
everyone that is already familiar with how the Palace Software
functions, then please go on to Page 2 of this tutorial and walking
tour.
We are going to start with the left side bar on
the palace software screen that you see below.
There is a red P on the top of the bar, that lets
you connect to a Palace.
The left arrow key, will take you back one room,
the right arrow key will move you forward one room.
The next is a talk bubble.
Then an exclamation bubble.
Then you have a BRB or comment bubble.
The next is a thought bubble.
Go to the next picture for the rest of the descriptions.
Now you will see a red book that says log on it.
This opens and closes your log window, which will appear at the
bottom of your palace software screen on top of the trash can
on the screen. See how it looks in the picture below. I personally
keep my log window up at all times, this helps keep up with conversations,
because the little talk bubbles do disappear pretty fast at times.
The next which looks like a blue speaker, is the
sound button. This gives you all the sounds that you have for
use while using the palace software.
The mask button let's you choose your smiley face
options. This is what you first have before being registered.
That big yellow smiley!
The paint pallete button is the next button. Can
be used for many different things, like writing. But please don't
leave graphitti all over The City :-)
Please go to the next picture for examples of the
next two buttons.
The next button is a door. This button allows you
to turn on or off the clickable areas in each room. When turned
off, you do not see which areas are clickable. When turned on,
you can see where the clickable exits are in each screen. See
the picture below.
The next button is a green mask, this button is
the name button. As you see in these pictures there is no name
on my AV, by clicking on the mask button, the names will appear
on the screen. I personally keep the names button on.
Alright! you are ready to enter the Subway!!
Click on the Next button to get to the next page
of the walking tour and tutorial.
Or Use the Navigation tables on down the page..
There are so far 11 pages to this tour.
